The Dano Show: A Journey Through Radio History

In the summer of 1989, Dan Harrell commenced his inaugural full-time radio career at the age of fourteen. Since then, Dano has traversed the nation, broadcasting in numerous prominent cities. Following his departure from Townsquare Media in Grand Rapids, Dan embarked on an entrepreneurial journey, establishing his own radio station, albeit an illicit pirate radio station known as Rock 104.9 Grand Rapids. This pioneering radio station significantly advanced the boundaries of radio and music programming.

Thirty-seven years later, with the demise of terrestrial radio due to corporate conglomerates corrupting the industry, the medium has transitioned to online streaming. This is where Dan’s passion lies. Rock 104.9 Detroit is the lifelong dream and brainchild of Dano. He loves and cares for this station more than anything.
